Recently someone approached me at an event and suggested that taking certain vitamins only leads to expensive urine.

To which I responded, “That’s interesting.  What do you mean?  Tell me about the science behind that.”

The person paused and was clearly unsure how to answer.  She mumbled something then shuffled off to the next display.

I have used most of the JavaFit products and have experienced benefits.  That is a significant part of why I am involved with the business.

The expensive urine myth is something I had heard before.  Since I was truly curious about the science behind the statement, I decided to do some research.

Urine is what is left over after the kidneys purify the blood.  If, for example, your urine contains Vitamin C then that Vitamin C was in your blood.  If the Vitamin C was in your blood then it was absorbed it just fine.  It is the absence of water-soluble vitamins in urine that indicates a deficiency.

During the early part of World War II, soldiers that were treated with penicillin were asked to save their urine so that the penicillin could be recovered and re-used.  These men obviously received benefit from the penicillin.

Science proves the Expensive Urine myth to be untrue.

Coffee – the name

The name of coffee is thought to be derived from Kaffa, the kingdom of the coffee plant’s origin. When coffee beans were first exported to Yemen, the Arabic name “quahha” became “kahve” to the Turkish. From there, the Italian interpretation of “caffe” was translated into what English speakers now understand as “coffee” in 1598. (slightly before our time)

Now you have heard the rest of the story.
